It is a 14th-century ruin listed as a category A monument, free to visit and five minutes' walk from the Princely Court.
About the place
The Sân Nicoară church, also called Little St Nicholas, was built in the 14th century on a hill spur above the terrace of the Argeș valley, close to the Princely Court. Local tradition links it to Lady Clara, the Catholic mother of Prince Vlaicu, though no document confirms the story. What remains are the brick-and-stone walls of the apse, the arched entrance and a tall tower, part of which collapsed in the 19th century.
The ruins are a category A historic monument, together with the surrounding park and the Heroes' Cross from the First World War. Access is free, and the climb up the hill takes a few minutes.
Good to know

- Wear comfortable shoes: the path up the hill can be slippery after rain.
- Combine the visit with the Princely Court and the Municipal Museum, about 200 m away.
